The 2016 Season of the Formula SimRacing World Championship is the 16th season of the prestigious championship.
2015 Constructors' Champions Twister 2 Fast 4 You are absent from the championship, as well as Precision Motorsports. Bono Huis and Morgan Morand have also extended their sabbatical. Defending Drivers' Champion Petar Brljak fills a part-time role at both Twister Racing and Musto Racing teams.
The season was won by Jeroen Kweekel at the Malaysian Grand Prix, in his first full WC campaign, driving for Origin Front Row Racing Team, who wrapped up the constructors title at the final round in Brazil. GhostSpeed Racing Team's Jernej Simoncic was the season runner up in his fourth full WC campaign, with Thrustmaster Twister Racing's Daniel Kiss securing third in the standings.

Team Changes
- Precision Motorsports loaned its license to VBMadCape.
- GhostSpeed Engineering races under the Ash Racing license.
- Scuderia Basilea buys the Faster-Than-Speed license. They later loan the license to Brehm GP.
